If you have not been able to sense his electricity or smell what he has been cooking through tireless video conference calls and a redundant war of words; tonight, Nov. 14, 2011 the Peoples Champ returns to face the people on a three hour special of Monday Night Raw.
It appears as if the majority of momentum and commitment the company built and thrived off of throughout the entire summer with the CM Punk conspiracy has idled, put on the back-burner; and furthermore, burnt-out.
Quite visibly, the WWE’s own expectations behind hyping The Rock’s return to in-ring action at Survivor Series on November 20 has easily been matched; as it has fully taken control of the promotions spot-lights.
The boost this will provide for the WWE is overwhelmingly evident and the obvious impact his presence will supply inside of a WWE-ring again, is unmistakable.
Waiting for The Rock to return to in-ring action has created an atypical buzz around the WWE Universe. Some may argue the same can be said for the entire world of professional wrestling.
The anxious nerve-sets that fans of all ages have been and are experiencing relating to The Rock’s return to in-ring action suggests how many skeptics remain. This is based on the wide-spread public knowledge of who Dwayne Johnson is and has become.
At this point it is a waste of space to deliberate the legitimacy of his return. What is not a waste of time and extremely prevalent at this point; the desire to impartially discuss the logistics behind all of the hype.
A boost in the promotion’s ratings, a boost in Pay-Per-View buys and a boost in overall interest is obvious. The boost in overall interest has been and will continue to be motored by curiosity.
The constant questioning of how long it will take for the professional wrestling world to settle on the generalized idea of The Rock once again promising to layeth the smackethdown; is by far the only struggle.
His presence leading into WrestleMania 27 and at WrestleMania 27 is a testament to exactly how much value his name brings to the WWE. The same can be said when it comes to the USA Network hyping his presence on Raw and the same can be said for what will and should take place leading into Survivor Series, at Survivor Series and eventually at Wrestlemania 28.
Tonight will mark The Rock’s first significant appearance on WWE programming since announcing he would be battling John Cena at Wrestlemania 28 in Miami, FL. Therefore, once again reading into the legitimacy of his return to the WWE should be left alone at this point.
The buzz around the wrestling world suggests not everyone has the same ideas, visions and expectations for The Rock’s return to in-ring action. As any long-time wrestling fan knows; patience is something wrestling fans have never been accepting of, but it is something we are all accustomed to.
As cliché as it sounds and as often as it applies, patience is essential when suffering from long-term feverish desires for this industry. A lack thereof is what drives up expectations.
Is it fair to say the expectations for The Rock returning to in-ring action on a WWE PPV are barely describable? Better yet would you attempt to describe them for the match against John Cena at Wrestlemania next year?
However, hype is hype, buzz is buzz and the propaganda the WWE is stirring and has been stirring up suggests the following:
No matter how significant or how legitimate his in-ring return will shape up to be; at the very least, anxious excitement remains as the sealant to those who refuse to believe in anything other than marketing.
Regardless, there is a market for the most electrifying man in sports entertainment to electrify the people of the WWE again, on any level, for any period of time.

If you would like to believe The Rock and the WWE are planning another one-time WrestleMania celebrity stunt, so be it.
If you would like to believe The Rock and the WWE are planning on reuniting on a consistent basis, so be it.
If you would like to believe The Rock and the WWE are planning something different altogether, so be it.
However, find the time to enjoy, appreciate and somehow benefit from one of the most familiar faces in the professional wrestling industry, again stepping foot on what his die-hard fans know are unfamiliar grounds.
